Course Overview

The MA in Modern Philology – designed as the continuation of the Department of Humanities’ BA in Literature, and particularly of its modern curriculum – intends to strengthen and widen its students’ knowledge and abilities in their core disciplinary sectors of specialisation, further improving their philological, linguistic, historico-literary and artistic competences.

With its two different curricula – philological and comparative – the course aims to fruitfully connect the linguistic and literary tradition of Italy with that of Europe and with the crucial moments in the establishment of each respective tradition, thus putting special focus on the classical – essentially Latin – and Romance legacy.

Job Opportunities

The course aims to offer competences which are intended to train not only secondary school teachers but also culture professionals capable of working in cultural contexts of national and international scope.
