Course Overview

The Master's Degree program in Electronic Engineering is a highly specialized training for professionals coping with modern communication and information technology systems.

For this purpose, the training program delves into all aspects about methodology, design, technology and experiment, as far as analogue and digital electronics, radio frequency, microwave, electronic power applications, energy conversion and production, sensors and micro-electro-mechanical systems are all concerned.

Educational Goals

In a highly competitive and rapidly changing production setting, this training is intended to foster better project design through continuous updating of skills, development of traditional systems and well-established technologies to enable postgraduates to deal successfully with problems in new emerging scenarios.

Postgraduates are therefore expected to:

  • have an in-depth knowledge and understanding of both theoretical and scientific nature. Key aspects of all basic core subjects of science, especially mathematics, will be studied in detail to be able to interpret and well describe engineering issues of a high degree of complexity that certainly require an interdisciplinary approach;
  • have a crystal-clear understanding of engineering in general and in-depth knowledge of electronic engineering in particular, whereby problems and issues can be easily identified and solved in an innovative way and with an interdisciplinary approach;
  • be able to write technical specs and reports;
  • be able to discuss proposals and projects;
  • be able to come up with ideas, design and manage complex and innovative electronic circuits, systems, processes and services by also using computer-aided design;
  • be able to design and manage highly complex experiments;
  • have contextual knowledge and cross-cultural skills;
  • communicate and write well in at least one European language besides Italian;
  • be independent with the growing demand for continuous updating;

Job Opportunities

Postgraduates will enter the job market with the ability to design electronic circuits and systems, and particularly custom and semi-custom integrated circuits, combined with embedded as well as programmable logic systems. Therefore, some of the main employment opportunities will be:

  • companies manufacturing electronic and microelectronic devices and components;
  • companies manufacturing electronic and microelectronic systems and equipment;
  • companies of the electromechanical, electrotechnical, aeronautical, automotive and naval industry where electronic equipment and systems are mostly developed;
  • space agencies;
  • management consulting firms for electronics sector.

Job Titles

  • Electronics Engineer
  • Computer Design Engineer
