Sustainable building renovation

Design activities oriented to the renovation of the existing real estate, at building and district level. The main objectives are: enhancing energy efficiency and thermal comfort, promote the integration of renewable energy source systems, increase seismic resistance, reduce carbon footprint and costs.

Both historic (i.e. built before 1950) and recent buildings (i.e. built from the 1950s to the 1980s) may be considered. Analyses on the original construction techniques, as well as on the relationships between construction techniques and seismic or energy performance are also welcome.
