Evaluation of the effect of contaminated biomasses in biomethane production - ERASMUS P LISBOA03

Detailed programme of the traineeship:

To study the effect of contaminated biomasses with heavy metals and biomass pre-treatments on biomethane production by anaerobic digestion.

  1. Characterization of the contaminated biomass, switchgrass, obtained from soils contaminated with heavy metals (Zn, Pb, Cd, Ni)
  2. Performance of fungal pretreatments of the switchgrass biomass
  3. Biochemical Methane Potential (BMP) Tests

Knowledge, skills and competences related with the use of biomass to produce biomethane qualifications and to facilitate personal development, 
employability and participation in the European labour market
