Erasmus incoming Students
Grant
Unict has been financed by the E+ project – KA171 to host students coming from partner universities. Students must be selected by their home institution and can stay at UNICT for a period of one semester for study. The grant amount is equal to 850 euro/month plus a travel contribution of EUR 275 calculated according to the unit costs for travel distances. An additional EUR250/month top-up will be granted to students with lower opportunities.
Documents
Students which have been selected from the partner university should follow the application procedure:
- Pre-application, using the UNICT webform. Documents to be uploaded in the webform are:
- Curriculum Vitae
- Financial Agreement
- Learning Agreement
- Certificate of enrolment
- Transcript of records
- Enrolment, starting from the link https://studenti.smartedu.unict.it/NewAccount, filling with the data requested and selecting BOTH options:
- Foreign student without tax code (if the fiscal code hasn’t been created yet from the Italian embassy)
- I am an incoming student (international mobility program)
The ITALIAN FISCAL CODE is automatically calculated by the system and it will be your username.
N.B. Students must hold a fiscal code released by embassy/consulate for asking for the residence permit before the arrival. The fiscal code created by the UniCT website does not replaces the need of obtaining one from the embassy/consulate.

After the formal acceptance, a student profile will be created, with the access of all the student online services.
Erasmus incoming Staff
Grant
In the framework of the ICM, academic staff coming from partner universities can carry on their mobility for teaching purposes. Grants will be awarded to academics and staff doing at least 5 days up to 2 months of mobility. Academics are required to do at least 8 hours of teaching activities per week.
The grant amount for incoming staff is equal to 160 euro/day (individual support) plus a travel contribution of EUR 275 (calculated according to the unit costs for travel distances).
Documents
Incoming Professors must fulfil UNICT webform before the arrival.
Documents to be uploaded in the webform are:
- Invitation by the hosting institution
- Nomination by the sending institution
- Teaching Agreement
- Grant agreement

Staff and student selection
Sending institutions are responsible for selecting their outgoing students and professors through fair and transparent procedures.
In compliance with the ECHE Principles, student selections shall respect fair and transparent procedure, and shall be made through an open call on the basis of the academic merit, language knowledge, motivation and compliance of the Learning Agreement.
Staff selection shall respect fair and transparent procedure, and shall be made through an open call on the basis of criteria autonomously selected by the Partner Institution.
